RRAC Men's Soccer Players of the Week
September 11, 2007

WACO, Texas –
Frank Toscano of Huston-Tillotson University (Texas) received the Red River Athletic Conference Men’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week award for the dates of Sept. 3-9, while his teammate, Victor Rodriguez, was selected as the RRAC Men’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week.

Toscano, a sophomore forward from Houston, tallied nine points as HTU won both of its matches last week. In a 4-1 win over Schreiner University (Texas), he knocked in two goals and added an assist. Then Toscano scored one goal and assisted on two others as HTU defeated Northwood University (Texas), 6-0. The Rams are now 4-1-1 on the season.

Rodriguez, a freshman defender from Austin, Texas, was the primary shield on the HTU end of the field as the Rams held their opponents to just one goal in two games last week. He is recognized after just his sixth collegiate match.

Additional nominees for offensive player of the week included Leo Cubrilo of Texas Wesleyan University, Fernando Ocete of UTB and Ernest Villareal of Northwood. Ekene Onuoha of TWU and Ranger Parrish of Northwood were also nominated for defensive player of the week.
