RRAC Men's Soccer Players of the Week
September 18, 2007

WACO, Texas –
The University of Texas-Brownsville’s Brian Hardie and Huston-Tillotson University’s (Texas) Aaron Yancy earned a share of the Red River Athletic Conference Men’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week award for Sept. 10-16, while UTB’s Bo Maric claimed the RRAC Men’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week honor for the same dates.

Hardie, a sophomore forward from Corbie, England, led UTB to a 5-1 win over HTU with a pair of goals. Hardie was held scoreless earlier in the week as the Scorpions suffered a 1-0 defeat at the hands of Our Lady of the Lake University (Texas). UTB is now 3-2-1 on the season and 1-0 in the conference.

Yancy, a sophomore midfielder from Mansfield, Texas, scored the Rams’ only goal against UTB and provided the difference with a goal in a 2-1 win as HTU played OLLU. The Rams are now 4-2 on the season.

Maric, a freshman goalkeeper from Belgrade, Serbia, held both UTB opponents to one goal while playing all 180 minutes last week.

Additional nominees for offensive player of the week included Marcos Diaz of Northwood University (Texas) and Adis Druzanovic of Texas Wesleyan University. Michael Crawford (Northwood), Diego Flores (HTU) and Joakim Soderbaum (TWU) were additional defensive nominees.
