Guzman, a sophomore midfielder from Houston, booted in a pair of goals to lead HTU to its first conference victory in its first year of competition. The scoring output spurred HTU to a 3-0 win over Southwestern Assemblies of God University (Texas). Earlier in the week, Guzman was held scoreless as HTU suffered a 3-1 loss against Bacone College (Okla.). The Lady Rams are now 1-3 in conference action and 1-5 on the season. Reeves,
a freshman forward from Mansfield, Texas, provided the difference in
TWU’s 2-1 win over University of Texas-Brownsville, its only game of the
week. She netted the first goal and assisted on the game winner as TWU
established a 2-0 conference mark and a 5-4-2 record overall. Reeves has
accounted for nine points (three goals and three assists) in her last
two games. UTB’s Lena Candia was also nominated for the RRAC offensive award, and HTU’s Nicole Harris was a defensive nominee. -RRAC- |
