Player and Pitcher of the Week March 11, 2008 |

Meek, a sophomore centerfielder from Mesquite, Texas, was 4-for-7 (.571) in a 1-2 week for Northwood. She went 2-for-2 in a 1-0 victory over Louisiana State University-Alexandria and she was 1-for-3 with a run scored in a 7-3 loss to Belhaven College (Miss.). She also contributed two stolen bases and a walk as the Lady Knights moved to 8-11 on the season and remained at 1-1 in conference play. Raley, a senior third baseman from Crowley, Texas, went 4-for-10 at the plate last week with a double, home run and two RBI’s. Her homer came in an 11-4 loss to Centenary College (La.) as she went 3-for-4 at the plate with a run scored. TWU dropped three games against NCAA competition last week to drop to 4-13 on the season. The Lady Rams are 4-2 in the RRAC. Westerman, a junior pitcher from Godley, Texas, tossed a complete game shutout with 10 strikeouts in the victory over LSU-Alexandria. She also made two other appearances on the week including a no-hit inning against William Carey University (Miss.) and three innings of work with three runs allowed against Belhaven College (Miss.). Alex Ramirez of Bacone College (Okla.) was an additional player of the week nominee. Bacone’s Robin Chriestenson and TWU’s Cami Riley were nominated for pitcher of the week. -RRAC- |
