RRAC Volleyball Player, Setter and Libero of the Week
September 4, 2007


WACO, Texas –
Talita Milasauskas of the University of Texas-Brownsville was selected as the Red River Athletic Conference Volleyball Player of the Week for August 27 – September 2, the first selection of the 2007 season. Along with Milasauskas, her teammate Daianarah Bracero was named RRAC Volleyball Setter of the Week and Ashley Mock of Texas Wesleyan University received the RRAC Libero of the Week honor.

Milasauskas, a freshman middle blocker from Sao Paulo, Brazil, powered the Scorpions to a 3-1 week with 63 kills and 28 digs. She averaged 4.20 kills per game and posted a high of 20 kills and nine digs in a loss to Midwestern State University (Texas). She also blasted 18 kills to sink NCAA Division II opponent Texas A&M University-Kingsville, 3-1. UTB is 5-3 on the season with three wins last week over NCAA II competition.

Bracero, a freshman setter from Sabado Grande, P.R., set the stage for UTB’s 3-1 week with 176 assists. She accounted for 49 assists in a four-game victory over New Mexico Highlands University and 48 against MSU. She also contributed 16 kills and 10 digs along with her 11.7 assist per game average.

Mock, a senior libero from Azle, Texas, recorded 6.75 digs per game as TWU started the season at 3-4. Mock notched 25 digs in a loss to NAIA #4 Concordia University-Irvine (Calif.), and she posted 23 in a victory over Carroll College (Mont.). She didn’t have any receiving errors and delivered 15 service aces during the week.

Sandra Ayala of TWU and Kelani Keoho of Southwestern Assemblies of God University (Texas) were additional player of the week nominees while Rachel Brown of SAGU and Evoni Darling were nominated for setter of the week and Viviana Lozano was nominated for libero of the week.
