RRAC Volleyball Player, Setter and Libero of the Week

WACO, Texas –
Kelani Keoho of Southwestern Assemblies of God University (Texas) earned Red River Athletic Conference Women’s Volleyball Player of the Week honors for Sept. 10-16. Texas Wesleyan University’s Evoni Darling was recognized as the RRAC Setter of the Week while her teammate, Ashley Mock, was the RRAC Libero of the Week.

Keoho, a sophomore outside hitter from El Paso, Texas, racked up 98 kills and 75 digs in a 4-2 week for the Lady Lions. The conference leader in kills blasted 20 in a five-set match with Mid-America Christian University (Okla.) and had 18 against two other opponents. Keoho had a high of 17 digs in a 3-1 win over Wayland Baptist University (Texas). In all, she had just 17 errors in 267 total attempts for a kill percentage of .300. SAGU is 1-1 in the conference and 12-5 overall.

Darling, a freshman setter from Grapevine, Texas, set the table as the Lady Rams rolled to a 6-1 week. She compiled a whopping 277 assists (11.5 per game), surpassing the 50-assist mark three times. She had 58 in a five-set match with Wayland Baptist University (Texas) and added 53 against Lubbock Christian University (Texas). Darling also contributed 63 digs and 14 kills as TWU improved to 10-8 on the season and 1-0 in the RRAC.

Mock, a senior libero from Azle, Texas, added the defensive support to TWU’s big week with 168 digs (7.3 per game). Her 51 digs against WBU shattered the single-match school mark of 40 set by Carmen Biel. Mock also committed just seven receiving errors in 93 total attempts.

Liz Meng of Texas Wesleyan University and Talita Milasauskas of University of Texas-Brownsville were also nominated in the player of the week category. In the setter category, Daianarah Bracero (UTB), Rachel Brown (SAGU) and Adrienne Ringer (HTU), were additional nominees, while Stephanie Castro (HTU) was entered in for the libero award.
