WACO, Texas -- Bianca Salinas of Our Lady of the Lake University (Texas) was tabbed as the Red River Athletic Conference Softball Player of the Week for Feb. 8-14, while her teammate, Kailyn Miller, took the RRAC Pitcher of the Week honor for the same dates.
Salinas, a freshman first baseman/third baseman from San Antonio, Texas, went 3-for-5 at the plate in a double-header sweep of the University of the Southwest (N.M.). She had a hit in the 3-2 opening win before driving in four runs with a home run and double in a 7-0 victory in the second game. Salinas also scored three runs. OLLU improved to 3-1 on the season.
Miller, a freshman pitcher from Devine, Texas, tossed a complete-game, five-hitter for the win in the second game against USW. She struck out nine hitters and walked one while making the first start of her career.
