WACO, Texas -- Sanetra Jackson of Langston University (Okla.) capped the 2009-10 regular season with two double-doubles, resulting in the Red River Athletic Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week honor for the dates of Feb. 22-28.
Jackson, a senior guard from San Antonio, Texas, averaged 21.5 points and 11.0 rebounds per game in a 2-0 week for the Lady Lions. She scored 18 points in a 77-64 victory over Texas Wesleyan University, and she poured in 24 in a 99-62 win over University of the Southwest (N.M.). Jackson made 16-of-36 shots from the field and contributed seven steals. She has scored 1,109 points in just two seasons for Langston while reaching seventh on the school's all-time scoring charts. Langston, the conference champion, finished the regular season at 19-1 in RRAC play and 23-7 overall.
Others receiving nominations this week included Ashley Davis of Texas Wesleyan University, Krystal Manning of Our Lady of the Lake University (Texas) and Sirena Medrano of University of the Southwest (N.M.).
