WACO, Texas -- Christina Kelley of Texas Wesleyan University was recognized with the Red River Athletic Conference Softball Player of the Week award for Feb. 22-28, while Kailyn Miller of Our Lady of the Lake University (Texas) was selected as the RRAC Softball Pitcher of the Week for the same dates.

Kelley, a sophomore first baseman from Aledo, Texas, drove in 11 runs in a busy 5-1 week for the Lady Rams at the Central Baptist College (Mo.) Tournament. She went 12-for-22 at the plate (.545) with a double and three home runs. She homered in TWU's first three games including a four-RBI outburst in a 10-9 opening game win over Baker University (Kan.). Kelley then drove in three runs to provide the difference over Columbia College (Mo.), 8-5, and added a pair of RBIs en route to an 8-4 defeat of Culver-Stockton College (Mo.). She racked up 22 total bases and a 1.000 slugging percentage in the tournament. The Lady Rams moved to 6-5 on the season.

Miller, a freshman pitcher from Devine, Texas, tossed a one-hit shutout in her only start of the week for a 4-0 victory over Northwood University (Texas). She struck out five and walked two in seven innings of work. The Lady Saints remained unbeaten at 8-0 overall.

OLLU's Brooke Hernandez was an additional player of the week nominee, while TWU's Ashley Oldham was nominated for this week's pitcher award.
