WACO, Texas - Justin Keithley of Northwood University (Texas) was recognized as the Red River Athletic Conference Baseball Player of the Week for the dates of March 15-21, while Joey Evans of Texas Wesleyan University and Adam Vera of the University of Texas-Brownsville were selected as the RRAC Co-Pitchers of the Week for the same dates.

Keithley, a senior outfielder from Arlington, Texas, connected on six extra-base hits and drove in 14 runs in a 3-1 week for the Knights. He accounted for a double and three RBIs as Northwood lost the first game of a double-header against Bacone College (Okla.), 8-5, before exploding for four hits and eight RBIs in the second game. He delivered three doubles and a home run as the Knights won, 22-10. He also collected a double and three RBIs as Northwood split a double-header against Friends University (Kan.) earlier in the week. Keithley went 7-for-13 at the plate with two walks and five runs scored. Northwood is 24-7 on the season and 1-1 in conference play.

Evans, a senior pitcher from Tyler, Texas, tossed a complete-game, four-hit shutout to earn the win against Southwestern Assemblies of God University (Texas), 11-0. He struck out six hitters in six innings of work with no walks. The Rams are 4-0 in the RRAC and 14-9 overall.

Vera, a sophomore pitcher from Brownsville, Texas, earned three victories for the Scorpions while facing only three batters. On three occasions, he entered in a tie game with two outs and a runner in scoring position. He quelled each rally, striking out hitters against Fisher College (Mass.) and Valley City State University (N.D.) then forcing a flyout in the second game against VCSU. UTB responded each time to score a go ahead run in the next inning en route to victories. Vera threw a total of eight pitches in one complete inning of work. UTB moved to 17-15 on the season.

Marco DeLeon of Wiley College (Texas) and Northwood's George Isabell were nominated for pitcher of the week. UTB's Jorge Camorlinga, Wiley's Hector Rivera and TWU's Nick Schrock were additional player of the week nominees.
