WACO, Texas -- Haley Butler of Texas Wesleyan University and Elba Labron of Northwood University (Texas) were named Red River Athletic Conference Softball Co-Players of the Week for April 19-25, while Northwood's Larissa Garcia and TWU's Ashley Oldham earned a share of the RRAC Pitcher of the Week honor for the same dates.

Butler, a junior catcher from Athens, Texas, knocked in 10 runs and scored six more as the Lady Rams claimed the RRAC regular season title with a 7-1 week. She hit .333 (7-for-21) with a double and two home runs including the opening game against Bacone College (Okla.) when she belted a homer and drove in three runs. Butler collected three more RBIs with two hits and her second homer in a 6-0 win over University of the Southwest (N.M). TWU is 22-4 in conference play and 30-13 overall.

Labron, a sophomore second baseman and shortstop from Waxahachie, Texas, was 14-of-25 at the plate (.560) as Northwood closed the season with a 6-2 week against conference competition. She was 3-for-6 with a home run in a double-header against Bacone and produced a 4-for-6 effort in a two-game set against TWU. Labron's biggest game of the week came with a 3-for-4 outing with a double and four RBIs against Huston-Tillotson University (Texas). She accounted for seven RBIs and seven runs scored for the week as Northwood finished at 20-8 in the RRAC and 29-20 on the season.

Garcia, a freshman pitcher and second baseman from San Antonio, Texas, picked up two wins and a save in the Lady Knights' big week against RRAC opponents. She tossed a complete game for a 5-1 win over Bacone, striking out nine hitters and scattering eight hits in seven innings. Garcia also held on for a 2-1 victory over TWU with six strikeouts. In two relief appearances, she allowed just one hit while getting 9-of-12 outs on strikeouts. She finished with 24 stikeouts for the week in 18 innings of work.

Oldham, a senior pitcher from Watauga, Texas, posted a 0.40 ERA in four outings last week. She started the week with a perfect game and a 4-0 victory over Bacone. Oldham retired all 21 hitters in the game while striking out five and allowing just one ball out of the infield. She closed the week with the 17th shutout of her career (school record) by blanking USW, 6-0. Oldham allowed just four hits while striking out eight hitters in the game. 

Bacone's Alex Ramirez was also nominated for this week's player award, while her teammate, Jamie Richardson, was a pitcher of the week candidate.
