
WACO, Texas -- Katherine Rosenbush of Texas Wesleyan University notched her second consecutive Red River Athletic Conference Women's Volleyball Player of the Week award for Aug. 30-Sept. 5, while Ana Guerra of the University of Texas-Brownsville was selected as the RRAC Hitter of the Week, Paula Barros of UTB as RRAC Setter of the Week and Gregner Gotay-Quinones of UTB as the RRAC Libero of the Week.
Rosenbush, a freshman middle blocker from Hutto, Texas, delivered again for the Rams in a 1-1 week. She built a .360 attack percentage on 23 kills with five errors in 50 attempts. In a sweep of St. Thomas University (Texas), she powered 14 kills with only one error. TWU is now 5-4 on the season.
Guerra, a freshman middle blocker from Sao Paulo, Brazil, compiled 34 kills in a 4-0 week for the Lady Scorpions that included a win over NAIA #7 Columbia College (Mo.). She contributed six kills against Columbia and a high of 12 against Lindenwood University (Mo.). For the week, she committed just two errors in 51 total attempts for a hitting percentage of .627. UTB is off to a 7-0 start this season and is currently ranked eighth in the NAIA.
Barros, a sophomore setter from Sao Paulo, Brazil, delivered 164 assists for the Lady Scorpions including 52 against Lindenwood. She recorded at least 32 assists in all four of UTB's wins last week. Barros also contributed 16 kills and 38 digs.
Gotay-Quinones, a sophomore defensive specialist from Naranito, P.R., provided the defense for UTB's run with 91 digs. She racked up 29 digs against Lindenwood and 23 against Columbia. Gotay-Quinones committed just nine receiving errors in 73 total attempts.
