WACO, Texas -- Javier Azar of Our Lady of the Lake University (Texas) emerged as the Red River Athletic Conference Men's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week for Aug. 30-Sept. 5, while OLLU's Nick Garza received RRAC Defensive Player of the Week recognition for the same dates.

Azar, a freshman defender from Brownsville, Texas, scored the game-winning goal in the Saints' 2-1 win over Texas Lutheran University on Friday. OLLU earned the victory in its first game of the season.

Garza, a freshman goalkeeper from San Antonio, Texas, registered four saves and held TLU to one goal in his first collegiate contest.

Steve Howard of the University of Texas-Brownsville and Chase Richeson of Texas Wesleyan University were additional offensive player of the week nominees.
