Pilots' Meza, Van Houdt garner RRAC weekly men's soccer honors

WACO, Texas – Daniel Meza of LSU Shreveport (La.) captured the RRAC Men's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week honor, while the Pilots' Yoran Van Houdt earned the RRAC Defensive Player of the Week award for Aug. 28-Sept. 3. This is the second set of conference awards for the 2017 men's soccer season.

Meza provided seven points in the Pilots' 6-0 victory over Williams Baptist College (Ark.) on Tuesday. The junior midfielder from Fontana, Calif., notched a pair of goals and three assists. Meza tied the school record for goals in a game and set a new record for assists. LSUS improved to 2-0 on the season. 

Van Houdt was recognized for the second straight week with a shutout. The freshman goalkeeper from Mol, Belgium, made four saves in 90 minutes to stretch the Pilots' advantage to 12-0 in goals this season. The program has been dormant since 2012.
