WACO, Texas – Desiree Morgas of University of the Southwest (N.M.) earned recognition as the RRAC Women's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week for Aug. 28-Sept. 3, while Mason Richardson of LSU Shreveport (La.) claimed the RRAC Defensive Player of the Week award for the same dates. This is the second set of conference awards for the 2017 women's soccer season.

Playing in her first two collegiate matches, Morgas scored five goals and assisted on another as the Mustangs started the season at 2-0. The freshman midfielder debuted with a hat trick in a 13-0 victory over Bacone College (Okla.). A native of El Paso, Texas, Morgas then followed with a pair of goals and an assist to knock off Randall University (Okla.), 7-0. 

Richardson was all over the field as the Pilots won one match and tied another last week. The junior defender from Forney, Texas, helped limit opponents to two goals in a 4-1 win over Williams Baptist College (Ark.) and a 1-1 tie with Belhaven University (Miss.). LSUS is now 1-1-1 on the season.
