WACO, Texas -- Brittani Toole of Southwestern Assemblies of God University (Texas) was tabbed as the Red River Athletic Conference Women's Volleyball Player of the Week and Hitter of the Week for her performance during Sept. 28-Oct. 4. In other awards, Angelica Arroyo of Texas Wesleyan University and Dianarah Bracero of University of Texas-Brownsville were named RRAC Co-Setters of the Week and TWU's Chelsy Covington earned RRAC Libero of the Week honors.
 
Toole, a junior middle hitter from Whitehouse, Texas, had a nearly perfect week in leading the Lady Lions to two conference victories. She pounded out 28 kills on 55 total attempts with one error for a hitting percentage of .491. In a 3-0 victory over Texas College, she had 14 kills on 26 attempts with no errors, and she added 19 digs overall. SAGU is now 4-1 in the RRAC and 16-2 on the season.

Arroyo, a freshman setter from Hutto, Texas, spurred the Lady Rams to a 2-1 week with 6.5 assists per game. She had 33 assists in a victory over St. Thomas University (Texas) and 32 as TWU defeated Bacone College (Okla.) en route to an .821 setting percentage. The Lady Rams are 3-2 in conference play and 9-11 overall.

Bracero, a senior setter from Sabana Grande, P.R., led UTB to a 4-0 week with 11.6 assists per game. She piled up 49 assists as the Scorpions dropped the University of Texas-Permian Basin, 3-1. Bracero also collected 41 assists against Wiley College (Texas), adding to her conference leading average of 10.1 per game. Her totals also included 24 kills and 20 digs for the 6-0, 18-1 Scorpions.

Covington, a sophomore libero from Hutto, Texas, compiled 27 digs on the week for TWU, including 12 each in matches against St. Thomas and Bacone. She committed only four receiving errors in 95 attempts for a reception percentage of .953. Covington also recorded a career high for kills in a match with 13.
