WACO, Texas -- Oumar Dijba of Huston-Tillotson University (Texas) and Fredrik Ekvall of the University of Texas-Brownsville earned a share of the Red River Athletic Conference Men's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week award for Sept. 28-Oct. 4, while Joakim Soderbaum of Texas Wesleyan University received RRAC Men's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week recognition for the same dates.

Dijba, a freshman forward from Senegal, provided the difference for the Rams with an important goal in a 3-2 victory in their first conference match of the season against Northwood University (Texas). HT is 1-0 in conference play and 4-3-1 overall.

Ekvall, a sophomore midfielder from Boras, Sweden, scored the only goal of UTB's match with Our Lady of the Lake University (Texas) when he knocked in a loose ball off a corner kick. It was Ekvall's second goal of the season and it kept UTB unbeaten on the season at 1-0 in the RRAC and 7-0-1 on the season.

Soderbaum, a junior goalkeeper from Varberg, Sweden, posted a shutout in his only match of the week as the Rams outlasted Bacone College (Okla.), 1-0. He stopped all five shots he faced to earn his second shutout of the season and lower his goals against average to 0.53. TWU is now 1-1 in the conference and 8-3 overall.
