
McEuen, a sophomore third baseman from Forney, Texas, matched the NAIA record for triples in a game with three in the Steers' 13-3 win over Dallas Christian College (Texas) in their first game of the week. He went 4-for-4 in the game while scoring four runs and collecting two RBIs. McEuen also had hits in three other contests as TXC won 4-of-5 games last week, including two in a three-game series with Huston-Tillotson University (Texas). He was 7-of-12 at the plate for the week with six runs scored, four RBIs and four triples. The Steers are now 13-14 in conference play and 23-24 on the season.
Gidora, a senior pitcher from Harlingen, Texas, became the first NAIA pitcher to shut out the nation's fifth-ranked team, LSU Shreveport, in a 5-0 victory for the Scorpions. He held LSUS to three hits while striking out five in seven innings of work. In the process, Gidora established a new school record for wins in a season with nine and remains among the nation's leaders in wins and ERA. UTB is tied for third in the RRAC at 18-9 with a 31-19 mark overall.
Justin Snider of Texas Wesleyan University was an additional player nominee, while LSUS' Logan Norris was nominated for pitcher of the week.
