WACO, Texas -- Gabriel Elizondo of Northwood University (Texas) earned recognition as the Red River Athletic Conference Men's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week, while fellow Knight David Etale was the recipient of the RRAC Men's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week for the same dates.

Elizondo, a freshman midfielder from Oak Cliff, Texas, doubled up with a pair of goals in back-to-back matches en route to a 2-1 week for the Knights. After a loss to the University of Mobile (Ala.), he scored twice to seal a 4-1 victory over Texas Wesleyan University. He also ensured Northwood would make a lead stand with two more goals in a 4-0 defeat of the University of the Southwest (N.M.). With two conference wins, Northwood moves to 3-1 with a 6-5-2 record on the season.

Etale, a junior goalkeeper from Nairobi, Kenya, only surrendered three goals on the week for the Knights. He faced eight shots against traditional NAIA power Mobile, and he held TWU and USW to one goal to earn a pair of wins.
