WACO, Texas -- Eric Frederick of Texas Wesleyan University stood above a strong field of candidates and claimed the RRAC Men's Basketball Player of the Week award for Nov. 28-Dec. 4.
   
Frederick, a senior forward from Oklahoma City, averaged 32.5 points and 18.0 rebounds per game while playing in two games during TWU's 3-0 week. He posted 35 points and 15 boards -- including 6-of-12 shooting from behind the three-point arc -- en route to a 92-75 conference victory over Paul Quinn College (Texas). He then played all 55 minutes of a triple-overtime 79-73 win at NAIA #6 LSU Shreveport, finishing the contest with 30 points and 21 rebounds. Frederick made 23-of-51 shots from the field during the week in addition to 11-of-15 free throw attempts. The Rams are currently ranked seventh nationally at 6-1 on the season.
 
Additional nominees included Phillip Burnett-Evans of Texas College, Demetrius Evans of University of the Southwest (N.M.), Josh Orta of Our Lady of the Lake University (Texas) and Derrick Parker of LSUS.
