WACO, Texas -- Ashleigh Jiminez of Texas Wesleyan University was selected as the Red River Athletic Conference Softball Player of the Week for Feb. 13-20, while TWU's Taylor Hodge was honored with RRAC Pitcher of the Week for the same dates.

Jiminez, a senior second baseman from Burleson, Texas, started the season strong by hitting .636 with three doubles, a home run and eight RBIs as the Lady Rams went 2-1 in the Cowtown Classic. She went 3-for-4 with a double, homer and four RBIs in a season-opening win over Graceland University (Iowa). In the third game, Jiminez was 3-for-3 with a double and a pair of RBIs as TWU defeated Southwestern College (Kan.), 11-0.

Hodge, a sophomore pitcher from Rowlett, Texas, posted a one-hit shutout in her first start of the season. She limited Southwestern to one hit and one walk while striking out three in the complete game effort.

Ciara Fraher of the University of the Southwest (N.M.) was also nominated for player and pitcher of the week.
