Guerrero, a freshman forward from Brownsville, Texas, scored a goal in all three of the Scorpions' matches last week including two conference tournament games. He accounted for one of the goals in a 2-0 conference semifinal win over Texas College then provided the difference in a 2-1 championship game victory over Our Lady of the Lake University (Texas).

Gamboa, a junior goalkeeper from Brownsville, Texas, provided three saves in the championship match including an indirect free kick from 12 yards out. The only goal he surrendered came in the 89th minute. He also blanked Texas College and led UTB to a 2-1 win over Texas A&M International University earlier in the week.

UTB won its third straight conference title and extended its winning streak to 31 against RRAC opponents since the Scorpions joined the conference in 2007.
