WACO, Texas -- Brittany Foster of University of the Southwest (N.M.) was recognized as the Red River Athletic Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week for Nov. 2-8 in the first weekly award of the 2009-10 season.

Foster, a senior forward from Hobbs, N.M., averaged 20.3 points and 5.3 rebounds per game as the Lady Mustangs started the year at 2-1. She poured in 22 points in both a loss to Lubbock Christian University (Texas) and a 79-77 victory over Wayland Baptist University (Texas). Foster also contributed 17 points and nine boards in a 98-63 win over Northern New Mexico University. For the week, she made 24-of-49 shots from the field (49.0%) and 10-of-13 from the free throw line. Foster also blocked five shots and collected three steals.

Also nominated this week were LaJuana Banks of Jarvis Christian College (Texas), Sanetra Jackson of Langston University (Okla.), and Latoya Murray of Wiley College (Texas).
