WACO, Texas -- Ashley Brooks of Jarvis Christian College (Texas) is the recipient of the Red River Athletic Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week award for her play during the dates of November 16-22.
Brooks, a senior point guard from Tyler, Texas, averaged 15.0 points and 5.0 assists per game in a 1-2 week for the Lady Bulldogs. On Saturday, she chipped in 12 points while collecting eight assists and five steals as JCC walloped Southwestern Adventist University (Texas), 103-35. Brooks also contributed 14 points and six assists against Southern Arkansas University and had her high-point total of the week against Louisiana State University-Shreveport with 19. In the three-game stretch, she made 16-of-40 field goal attempts including 6-of-15 from the free throw line. The Lady Bulldogs are now 1-3 on the season.
Also nominated this week were Brittany Foster of University of the Southwest (N.M.), British Thomas of Texas College and Brittany White of Texas Wesleyan University.
