WACO, Texas -- Stephanie Madden of Langston University (Okla.) snared the Red River Athletic Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week award for the dates of Nov. 23-29 for her play at the Xavier University (La.) Classic.

 
Madden, a junior forward from Bakersfield, Calif., propelled Langston to two tournament victories with 17.0 points and 8.5 rebounds per game. She registered a double-double with 18 points and 12 boards in a 77-66 defeat of Tougaloo College (Miss.) and contributed 16 points and five rebounds to sink host Xavier, 69-66. Madden connected on 16-of-24 shots from field goal range on the week. Langston climbed to 3-5 on the season.

Also nominated this week were Ashley Davis of Texas Wesleyan University, Sirena Medrano of University of the Southwest (N.M.) and British Thomas of Texas College.
