
Currie, a junior guard from Dallas, Texas, averaged 22.3 points per game in a tough 0-3 week for the Lions. Most of Currie's points came from behind the three-point arc where he made 17-of-29 attempts for the week (58.6%). He poured in 24 points with four three-pointers against the University of Science & Arts (Okla.) and accounted for 26 on eight three-pointers against Texas A&M University-Commerce. Currie was also 12-of-13 from the free throw line as Langston slipped to 3-5 on the season.
Wanamaker, a junior guard from Philadelphia, Pa., continued his well-balanced play by approaching triple-doubles in all three of the Rams' victories last week. He recorded 19 points, seven rebounds and eight assists in a 55-48 win over Oklahoma City University as TWU set a new school record with 24 consecutive home victories. He also added 14 points, seven boards and six assists to knock off Dallas Christian University (Texas). For the week, he averaged 14.3 points, 7.7 rebounds and 6.7 assists as the Rams improved to 6-3.
Davetom Odom of Huston-Tillotson University (Texas) was also nominated for this week's award.
