UT-Brownsville advanced to the quarterfinals of the NAIA Women's Volleyball National Championship in Sioux City, Iowa, but lost to top-seeded Fresno Pacific University (Calif.) on Friday. The Scorpions won in the round of 16, 23-25, 25-19, 25-17, 27-25, over the College of Idaho. UTB finished the year with an overall record of 34-3.
