Mukweyi scored 26 points and pulled down 10 rebounds to start RRAC play.
WACO, Texas -- Hector Mukweyi of Texas Wesleyan University claimed the Red River Athletic Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week award for the dates of Dec. 14-20, as announced by the RRAC today.
Mukweyi, a senior forward from Mansfield, Texas, posted a season-high 26 points in the Rams' conference opener, a 72-63 victory over Wiley College (Texas). He was one of three TWU players to post double-doubles in the game as he collected 10 rebounds. Mukweyi made 12-of-16 shots from the field as the Rams moved to 8-3 on the season.
Alexander Cossey of Wiley scored 16 points in the game and was also nominated for this week's award.
