Red River Athletic Conference
Basketball Operating Procedures

 

 

1.   All time changes will be approved through both athletic directors from each school on all Conference games.

 

2.   The ball that will be used will be the NAIA approved ball, the Rawlings VISNAIAB. A fine will be assessed to any institution that doesn't have the Rawlings ball available for home games. Fines will be assessed by the RRAC Commissioner.

 

3.   Practice Times: The Home Team shall provide the visiting team with a minimum of one hour per team both men and women.
 
Visiting team should provide regulation practice balls for warm-ups.

 

Visiting team must call Home team to schedule practice time.

 

Day of Game: Each team men and women, will get a one-hour shoot-around. Must be scheduled with Home  team.
 
During visiting team practice times, the gym must be secure and free of other people entering or leaving the gym.

 

4.   Locker Room facilities must be given to the visiting team. They must be in a safe place and have room for the team to dress.

 

5.   All games played in Conference must have a Game Administrator and a Crowd Control person present at all games.

 

6.   Uniforms: The home team will wear light jerseys and the visiting team will wear dark jerseys. Uniforms must conform to NCAA rules.

 

7.   There will be no Pass Policy for the visiting team.  Exception: Anyone with a NAIA card will be let into all games at no cost.

 

8.   Tie Breakers for seeding will follow the By Laws and Constitution procedures.

 

9.   We will follow NCAA Basketball Rules for men and women.

  

10.The Chair and National Representative for men is Coach Terry Waldrop, Texas Wesleyan and Coach Arlon Beadles, SAGU for the women.

 

The Oversight Committee for Men: Tony Stigliano (RRAC Commissioner), Donnie Bostwick (SAGU coach), Andre Payne (Wiley coach). The Oversight Committee for Women: Tony Stigliano (RRAC), Jennifer Pillich (Texas College coach), Robbie Shay (Bacone coach). 

 

11.The Top 8 teams will be in the Conference Tournament. This will be for both Men and Women. We will follow the Tie Breaking System in the Red River Bylaws and Constitution.

 

12.Game Tape will be in effect for the 2011-2012 Basketball Season by each school. We will upload all conference games. Must upload within 24 hours after game is completed. If not done, the following penalties will apply: If you violate the first time, you are locked out of the system for one week. If you violate a second time, you are locked out two weeks. If you violate three times, locked out for the remainder of season.

  

13.The responsibility for crowd control rests with the host Director of Athletics or designated game manager. The Director of Athletics of the competing institutions are expected to communicate with their student athletes and other fans to encourage enthusiastic support within the confines of good sportsmanship. Host institutions must provide adequate security and ushers for crowd management. Attention should be given to seating arrangements what will alleviate crowd control problems.
 

14. Sportsmanship.
Three rows of seating behind visiting team's bench should be reserved for visiting fans.
Two security policemen must be on duty at the game.
Music played in the gym must not contain foul or offensive language.
All members of the home team's table crew must be qualified for their role.
