Operating Procedures

1. Regular Season Weather Protocol

a. The home team must notify the visiting team of weather if it is going to rain, etc.

b. We will wait 72 hours to see if we can get the schedule games in, if not we will reschedule at a later date only if it matters for Rankings.

c. Conference games are a first priority so if we have to cancel another opponent to make a date up we will do so.

2. Post-Season Weather Protocol

a. If the tournament cannot be played at all the tournament winner will be seed #1, runner-up will be seed #2.

b. If day one is started but cannot be completed by the tournament deadline (day 5), then rule V-E.2 applies. Day one includes games 1,2,3.

c. If day one can be completed, then the tournament winner will be the highest seeded team that is undefeated and the runner up will be the highest seeded team remaining. (Games 1,2,3)

d. If day two is completed, then the winner for the tournament will be the highest seeded team that is undefeated and the runner-up will be the highest seeded team remaining. (Games 4,5,6)

e. If day three is completed, then the winner for the tournament will be the highest seeded team that is undefeated and the runner-up will be the highest seeded team remaining. (Games 7,8,9)

f. If five teams remain after game 6 and three teams after game nine, then the two highest seeded teams still in the tournament will be the winners and advance to the NAIA National Tournament. With the highest seeded team being crowned tournament champions.

g. If only one day is available to play, the #1 seed and the #2 seed play one nine-inning game to decide the winner and both teams advance to the national tournament.

h. If the tournament has to be played on limited days, then the tournament will become a single elimination tournament with the winner of game 1 receiving a bye in the 2^nd day when the winner of games 2 and 3 play. The winner of games 2 and 3 will play the winner of game 1 for the tournament crown and the loser of that game will then advance with the winner to the national tournament.

Note: Ever effort will be made to play the games. The tournament director should work with the host school to secure an alternate site if the host field becomes unable to play. The alternate site should be within a reasonable driving distance. Reasonable driving distance is defined as no more than 120 miles or 2 hours. Each team must be able to keep their same lodging.

3. Tournament Information.

a. Agreement that the top 6 teams from conference play will advance to the Conference Tournament.

b. Date and location of tournament

Date: April 29- May 1.

Tournament play will start on Friday April29, Sunday May 1st will be if necessary.

Location: Farmers Branch, TX

a. Everyone must have these for conference games and conference tournament games.

5. Regular Season Play

a. A tie breaker for conference play will be decided upon the coaches at the plate.

b. Home uniforms for the first day of play should be your light color jersey while away uniforms on the first day should be your dark color. Home uniforms for the second day of play should be your dark jersey while away uniforms should be your light jersey.

c. Coaches can agree on other arrangements if necessary.

6. Determination of Conference Champion

a. The conference champion is the winner of the Regular season and is based on wins.

b. If there happens to be a head to head tie after completion of the regular season we will then go to head to head competition against each other. If there is still a tie we will then base it on most runs scored.

7. Conference Team

a. Conference call to discuss all nominations by school and Coach first.

b. Vote will be done after conference call.

c. Vote will be done via a private ballot and sent to Darin.

d. Co-players of the year will be accepted.

e. We will have an All Conference Team and a Post Season Tournament Team effective for 2011.

f. The release of these team will be after the tournament.

g. The team will consist of 18 players as well as a Player of the year, Pitcher of the year, Newcomer of the year, and Defensive player of the year.
