U. of Southwest Earns 2008-09 RRAC GPA Award
University of the Southwest (N.M.) student-athletes earned a cumulative GPA of 3.06 during the 2008-09 academic year to garner the RRAC GPA Award. The 2008-09 RRAC scholar-athletes were also announced on Wednesday.

USW, SAGU Share RRAC Sportsmanship Award for 2008-09
University of the Southwest (N.M.) and Southwestern Assemblies of God University (Texas) were selected for the 2008-09 Red River Athletic Conference Sportsmanship Award as the programs with the coaches, players and administration that exhibited the best demeanor and conduct during the academic year.

Langston Earn Awards at NAIA Outdoor Track and Field Championships
Langston finished 13th among men's teams and 23rd among women's teams at the NAIA Track and Field Championships in Edwardsville, Ill. The Lions' William Moses won the national championship in the men's high jump, and Willie Felder finished fifth in the men's long jump. The Langston men also finished as the runner-up in the 4x400 relay. The Lady Lions had two student-athletes make NAIA All-American in the 200-meter dash (Charlesha Lightbourne) and the 400-meter dash (Brandee Means).

Northwood Snares Third RRAC All-Sports Award with 08-09 Trophy
Northwood finished the 2008-09 athletics season the same way the Knights wrapped up the previous year, by winning the RRAC baseball and softball championships and, ultimately, the conference's All-Sports Award.
