UTB's Abass Ayembillah attained national recognition as
the NAIA Men's Soccer Player of the Week in addition to his
conference honor. The freshman forward delivered a hat trick
against 16th-ranked Southern Nazarene (Okla.) on Saturday.

UTB's Caboclo Heads Up RRAC
Volleyball Players of the Week
UTB's Valquiria Caboclo was named the RRAC Player of the
Week and Hitter of the Week for the dates of Aug. 31-Sept.
6. Additional weekly award winners included Co-Setters of
the Week Daianarah Bracero of UTB and Evoni Darling of TWU
and Co-Liberos of the Week Chelsy Covington of TWU and
Anayeli Trevino of UTB.

Three Earn Share of RRAC Men's Soccer Weekly
Award
HT's Chris Veenhuis was selected
as the RRAC Men's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week for
Aug. 31-Sept. 6, while three players, UTB's Abass Ayembillah
, USW's Callum Congreve and TWU's Theo Nabassi, shared the
RRAC Men's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week award for the
same dates.

Cassandra Ruiz earned recognition as the RRAC Women's Soccer
Offensive Player of the Week for Aug. 31-Sept. 6, while
TWU's Katy Houchin was recognized as the RRAC Women's Soccer
Defensive Player of the Week.

Galvan
Named RRAC Athletic Director of the Year
Mike Galvan of the University of the Southwest was
selected by his peers as the 2008-09 RRAC Athletic Director
of the Year. Under his watch, USW received the conference's
GPA Award and a share of the RRAC Sportsmanship Award. He
also guided the school into its first year of basketball
competition with a fifth place finish for the Mustang men
and sixth for the women. Galvan also serves as USW's head
baseball coach.
