WACO, Texas -- Chris Veenhuis of Huston-Tillotson University (Texas) was selected as the Red River Athletic Conference Men's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week for Aug. 31-Sept. 6, while three players, Abass Ayembillah of the University of Texas-Brownsville, Callum Congreve of University of the Southwest (N.M.) and Theo Nabassi of Texas Wesleyan University, shared the RRAC Men's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week award for the same dates.

Veenhuis, a freshman goalkeeper from Kyle, Texas, shut out Concordia University (Texas), 3-0, in his only start of the week. He faced 10 shots and delivered seven saves en route to the victory. The Rams improved to  1-1-1.

Ayembillah, a freshman forward from Accra, Ghana, was held scoreless in a victory over University of St. Thomas (Texas), but he saved his best for 16th-ranked Southern Nazarene University (Okla.) on Saturday. Ayembillah posted a hat trick as the Scorpions cruised to a 5-1 win. The Scorpions are 3-0 on the young season.

On Saturday, he sparked the Rams with their first goal in a 2-1 win over Oklahoma Baptist University.
