WACO, Texas -- Hopie Perez claimed the first Red River Athletic Conference Softball Player of the Week award of the season with her play over the dates of Feb. 2-8, while her teammate, Ashley Oldham, was recognized as the RRAC Softball Pitcher of the Week for the same dates.

She was 3-for-3 in the season opener with a double as the Lady Rams lost to TAMIU, 7-2. She closed out the series by going 2-for-3 with an RBI in a 6-5 defeat.

Oldham, a junior right-hander from Watauga, Texas, suffered two of the Lady Rams' losses over the weekend but only allowed four earned runs in 13 innings of work. She recorded four strikeouts and allowed only 10 hits.
