SALEM, Ore. – (Live Scoring | Sunset in Salem) Texas Wesleyan approached another men's golf national title to its collection, but the Rams finished second to Oklahoma City University as the 2013 NAIA Men's Golf National Chamionships at Creekside Golf Club in Salem, Ore., came to a close on Friday. TWU climbed to second in the third round of the event but couldn't close the gap on OCU. Our Lady of the Lake finished in seventh place, followed by RRAC members St. Thomas (12th) and Northwood (13th).
Aaron Flores of OLLU tied for second among individuals, two shots behind champion Sondre Ronold of OCU. TWU's Dylan Anthony finished in a tie for seventh, while UST's Zach Cabra tied for 10th.
Texas Wesleyan made the jump to second place from sixth thanks to two rounds of 69 from Nathan Anderson and Jose Pablo Rolz. OLLU climbed to sixth from 11th as Aaron Flores and Dustin Blair also registered rounds of 69. St. Thomas slipped to 11th, while Northwood moved up two spots to 12th to give the RRAC the most teams in the top 12 of any conference.
The 62nd annual event was a 72-hole stroke play tournament played over the course of four days, concluding with the final round on Friday.
