WACO, Texas – Gage Murphy of the University of Texas-Brownsville captured the Red River Athletic Conference Men's Golfer of the Week award for March 23-29, while Deana Portillo was recognized as the RRAC Women's Golfer of the Week for the same dates. This is the sixth set of awards for the 2015 golf season.


Murphy carded a two-over par 218 over three rounds to place 27th in a difficult field at the Battle at Primm, which was held at Primm Valley Golf Course in Primm, Nevada. The senior from Calgary, Alb., posted consistent rounds of 73, 72, and 73 on the par-72, 7,131-yard course. The field included 90 individuals from 10 of the top 25 teams in the NAIA. The Ocelots finished 13th out of 17 teams.
