WACO, Texas – Ricardo Diegues of the University of Texas-Brownsville and Edrian Negrete of the University of the Southwest (N.M.) earned a share of the Red River Athletic Conference Men's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week award for Oct. 20-26. UTB's Archie Massen grabbed sole ownership of the Defensive Player of the Week honor for the same dates. This is the ninth set of weekly awards for the 2014 season.

 

Diegues, a senior forward from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, recorded a hat trick as the Ocelots won a pair of conference matches last week. He netted three goals and assisted on another in a 9-0 defeat of LSU Alexandria (La.) on Saturday, increasing his conference scoring lead. Diegues is first among all RRAC players with 23 goals and 53 points. UTB remains tied in the RRAC standings at 7-0 and unbeaten at 16-0 on the season.
