WACO, Texas – Alette Taylor of the University of St. Thomas (Texas) notched Red River Athletic Conference Women's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week honors for Aug. 25-31, while her teammate, Adriana Torres, was selected as the RRAC Defensive Player of the Week for the same dates. These were the first awards of the 2014 season.
Taylor, a freshman midfielder from Katy, Texas, accounted for the first goal of her college career and the only goal of the game as the Lady Celts defeated Prairie View A&M University (Texas), 1-0. The contest also marked the first game in the history of the UST women's program, which started with the victory over an NCAA Division I opponent.
