WACO, Texas – AnJonee Mathis of Wiley College (Texas) was named the Red River Athletic Conference Volleyball Player of the Week for her performance over the dates of Sept. 22-28. Kendall Groff of Our Lady of the Lake University (Texas) garnered RRAC Hitter of the Week, OLLU's Alexia Bustamente won Setter of the Week, and OLLU's Alexandra Wilborn captured Libero of the Week. This is the fifth set of weekly awards for the 2014 season.

 

Mathis, a junior outside hitter from Missouri City, Texas, posted a .375 hitting percentage in a 1-1 week for the Wildcats. She accounted for nine kills in a 3-0 sweep of Grambling State University (La.), and she tacked on seven more in a loss to Southwestern Assemblies of God University (Texas). For the week, Mathis committed just four errors in 32 total attacks. She ranks ninth in the RRAC in hitting percentage currently at .219. Wiley is unbeaten at 3-0 in conference play and 9-12 on the season.
