WACO, Texas – Darius Revels of the University of the Southwest (N.M.) grabbed the Red River Athletic Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week honor for the dates of Jan. 19-25. This is the 10th award of the 2014-15 basketball season.

 

Revels spurred the Mustangs with two 30-point outings in a pair of conference victories last week. The sophomore guard soared to 35 points and six steals to clinch an 89-85 overtime victory at the University of St. Thomas (Texas) on Friday. In another road game a day later, Revels accounted for 30 points and nine assists as USW upset 11th-ranked Our Lady of the Lake University (Texas), 95-90. The Richardson, Texas, native sank 22-of-41 shots from the field for the week, including 6-of-11 from three-point range. Revels is in the top 5 in four RRAC statistical categories including scoring (18.6 point per game) and assists (4.2 per game). The Mustangs evened their conference record at 5-5 while climbing to 11-8 overall.
