BROWNSVILLE, Texas -- Playing host in the Opening Round of the 2014 NAIA Men's Soccer National Championship, second-ranked UT-Brownsville stayed unbeaten, winning its most important match of the season, 2-1, over Rocky Mountain College (Mont.) on Saturday. The Ocelots will move on to the round of 16 in Delray Beach (Fla.), which will serve as the site for the remainder of the championship.

UTB started the scoring early with Victor Parreiras setting up a goal from Oscar Valencia off a corner kick. There was no scoring until UTB extended the lead in the 87th minute when Ricardo Diegues, the RRAC's goal leader, netted a shot. RMC scored moments later, but it was too little too late as Ocelot goalkeeper Axel Svenson made the lead stand up. UTB outshot the Bears, 19-8, and are now 21-0 on the season. Lindsey Wilson College (Ky.) is next up for the Ocelots. (Match recap)
