WACO, Texas – Victor Parreiras of the University of Texas-Brownsville claimed the Red River Athletic Conference Men's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week honor for Sept. 22-28, while his teammate, Archie Massen, was tabbed as the Defensive Player of the Week for the same dates. This is the fifth set of awards for the 2014 season.

 

Parreiras, a senior midfielder from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, compiled two goals and an assist as the Ocelots stayed unbeaten with a pair of victories over non-conference opponents. He netted two goals in a 3-1 win over the University of Mobile (Ala.) then assisted on a goal that provided the difference as UTB defeated Oklahoma Baptist University, 3-2. Parreiras is fifth in the conference with five goals and tied for fourth in points with 15. The Ocelots are ranked 14th in the country with an 8-0 mark on the season.
