DELRAY BEACH, Fla. – (Bracket | Box Score) UT-Brownsville was unbeaten through 24 matches this season, but the Ocelots came up just short in the final of the 2014 NAIA Men's Soccer National Championship. They lost to Davenport University (Mich.), 2-1, in overtime on Saturday to end their historic season at 24-1-0. Davenport headed in the game-winner in the 93rd minute which gave the Panthers the win and the national title in a game that culminated the weeklong event at the Seacrest Soccer Complex.

"Firstly what a fantastic run we had. We were so close to completing the dream run. I thought the boys were magnificent again tonight. Leading 1-0 I always felt we were in control. The penalty was very questionable, but that's the way soccer goes." Head Coach Dan Balaguero said. "The goal we gave away in overtime was very disappointing."
