WACO, Texas – Sean Baumes of Bacone College (Okla.) and Winn Smith of LSU Alexandria (La.) were named Red River Athletic Conference Baseball Co-Players of the Week for the dates of March 23-29, while the RRAC Pitcher of the Week award was split between Tyler Delzell of Bacone and Ryan Shockey of Jarvis Christian College (Texas) for the same dates. This is the ninth set of weekly awards for the 2015 baseball season.

 

Baumes racked up 10 RBIs and scored nine runs in a 4-1 week for the Warriors. The junior first baseman was 3-for-5 with two runs scored as Bacone opened the week with a 5-3 loss to Oklahoma Wesleyan University. On Friday, Baumes was 6-for-7 with all 10 of his RBIs in a double-header against Wiley College (Texas). The native of San Diego drove in four runs in the first game then blasted two home runs (a two-run round-tripper and a three-run bomb) and walked three times while collecting six RBIs in a 24-6 game two blowout. The Warriors wrapped up a four-game sweep over Wiley with two more wins on Saturday. For the week, Baumes walked five times and stole four bases while going 10-for-16 at the plate. He tops all RRAC hitters with a .451 average this season and he is the conference's home run leader with seven. Bacone surged to 7-5 in conference play with a mark of 12-18 on the season.
