WACO, Texas – Regina Trapp of the University of St. Thomas (Texas) was recognized as the Red River Athletic Conference Volleyball Player of the Week for her performance over Oct. 20-26. Jade Tigilau of Bacone College (Okla.) earned the RRAC Hitter of the Week award, Toree Misa'alefua of Bacone collected Setter of the Week, and Shelby Staples of UST was selected as the Libero of the Week for the same dates. This is the ninth set of weekly awards for the 2014 season.

 

Trapp, a senior outside hitter from Santa Fe, Texas, posted a .577 hitting percentage in a 1-1 week for the Celts. She led the team with 17 kills including 11 in a 3-0 sweep over University of the Southwest (N.M.). Her hitting percentage was .769 in that match. For the week, Trapp committed only two errors in 26 total attacks. She ranks fifth in the RRAC with a .253 hitting percentage. The Celts moved to 6-3 in the RRAC standings with a record of 16-9 overall.
