WACO, Texas – Elizabeth Rodriguez of Our Lady of the Lake University (Texas) received the Red River Athletic Conference Softball Player of the Week honor for April 13-19, while OLLU's Maegan Ramirez was selected as the RRAC Pitcher of the Week for the same dates. This is the ninth set of awards for the 2015 softball season.
Rodriguez hit safely in every game of a 7-1 week for the Saints. The sophomore shortstop was 10-for-13 in a four-game sweep of Huston-Tillotson University (Texas) including a home run and three RBIs in each of the first two games. Rodriguez added two more multi-hit games as OLLU won three of four games over University of the Southwest (N.M.). She was 2-for-2 in the first game of the series, and she drove in a pair of runs in the second game to contribute to a 4-0 victory. For the week, the native of San Antonio, Texas, was 16-for-27 at the plate with eight runs scored, 10 RBIs, three doubles, a triple and two home runs. Rodriguez surged to eighth in the RRAC with a batting average of .403 on the season, while she is fifth in hits with 52. OLLU is second in the RRAC standings at 15-1 with a record of 34-8 overall.
