WACO, Texas -- Mary Jordan of Langston University (Okla.) soared to the Red River Athletic Conference Softball Player of the Week award for April 14-20, while Katrisha Arocha of Our Lady of the Lake University (Texas) claimed her fifth Pitcher of the Week honor over the same dates. This is the 11th set of awards for the 2014 season.

Jordan, a junior catcher from Las Vegas, Nevada, went 18-for-21 at the plate in a 6-0 week for the Lady Lions. The RRAC leader with a batting average of .485 for the season, she had at least two hits in each game last week while driving in nine runs and scoring 14. Jordan was 6-for-8 with a double and an RBI in a doubleheader sweep of Ecclesia College (Ark.) then piled up 12 hits in a four-game sweep of Texas College. She capped the week by going 2-for-2 with 4 RBIs in a 22-0 win over the Lady Steers. To top it off, Jordan was 10-for-10 in stolen base attempts for the week. Langston earned the final berth in the RRAC postseason tournament at 8-12 in conference play with a record of 21-28 on the season.
