LCU's Monnet, TAMUT's Robinson receive RRAC women's soccer weekly awards
WACO, Texas – Emma Monnet of Louisiana Christian University was recognized as the RRAC Women's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week for Sept. 11-17, while Ivana Robinson of Texas A&M-Texarkana earned the RRAC Defensive Player of the Week honor for the same dates. This is the fourth set of conference awards for the 2023 women's soccer season.
Monnet recorded her third career hat trick in the Wildcats' 6-1 victory over LSU Alexandria. The junior forward from Yzeure, France, scored in the 13th, 29th, and 72nd minutes and assisted on another LCU score in the process. It was Monnet's first hat trick since 2021. She is currently tied for fifth in the RRAC with five goals. The Wildcats are 1-0 in conference competition and 3-1 on the season.
Robinson was instrumental in three shutouts for the Eagles last week. The junior goalkeeper was in goal for a majority of the matches, anchoring the defense and making seven saves. TAMUT has only allowed two goals this season. Robinson's goals against average (0.65) is third best in the RRAC. The Eagles are 2-0 in the RRAC and 7-0 overall.
