WACO, Texas – Some things remained the same and some things are new in the release of the 2023 RRAC Men's Soccer All-Conference Team and player of the year awards. 2023 RRAC Men's Soccer All-Conference Team

Jake Strachan of RRAC regular season champion LSU Shreveport repeated as the conference's Defensive Player of the Year. The Pilots led the conference in fewest goals allowed and posted shutouts in 10 conference matches this season.

For the second straight year, the LSUS head coach was named RRAC Coach of the Year. First-year coach Adam Kay took over for the defending champs and took them to another RRAC title with an 11-2 record.

Xavier's soccer program is brand new with this being the inaugural season for the program. The Gold Rush placed third in the RRAC standings with forward Gustavo Oliveira leading the way. For his part, Oliveira scored 13 goals and compiled 28 points and was named the RRAC Offensive Player of the Year and Newcomer of the Year.

Xavier put five players on the all-conference first-team including Oliveira, while LSUS was represented with four first-teamers. Strachan was the only honoree to repeat as a first-team selection. Louisiana Christian earned the other three spots including conference goal-leader Sergio Pita Martin.
