Washington collects second RRAC men's hoops weekly award
WACO, Texas – Tyler Washington of LSU Shreveport (La.) garnered the RRAC Men's Basketball Player of the Week award for his performance over the dates of Jan. 29-Feb. 4. This is the 13th weekly award of the 2023-24 men's basketball season.
Washington posted averages of 22.3 points and 11.7 rebounds per game in a 2-1 week for the Pilots. The senior forward from Delhi, La., poured in 21 and 24 points in victories over Texas A&M University-Texarkana and Huston-Tillotson University (Texas). Washington also recorded a double-double with 22 points and 14 boards in a loss to Our Lady of the Lake University (Texas). He shot 26-of-47 from the field including 8-of-16 from three-point range for the week, while raising his season averages to 10.1 points and 5.1 rebounds per game. LSUS moved to 11-4 in conference play and 16-5 overall.
