TAMUT's Narvaez, LCU's Woods receive first RRAC women's soccer weekly honors of 2024

WACO, Texas – Desiree Narvaez of Texas A&M University-Texarkana earned the RRAC Women's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week award for Aug. 19-25, while Jaycee Woods of Louisiana Christian University notched the RRAC Defensive Player of the Week honor for the same dates. This is the first set of conference awards for the 2024 women's soccer season.

Narvaez accounted for an assist and the game-winning goal in the Eagles' 5-1 victory over Nelson University (Texas). The sophomore forward from Mesquite, Texas, scored in the eighth minute en route to the season-opening win.

Woods collected seven saves to lock in a 0-0 tie for the Wildcats in their season opener. The senior goalkeeper from Mount Pleasant, Texas, faced 14 shots, which was one shy of her career high. Woods now has 6.5 career shutouts, which is fourth best in school history. Her career save percentage is second all-time at LCU.
