Xavier's Barton, TAMUT's Johnson named RRAC cross country runners of the week
WACO, Texas – Shea Johnson of Texas A&M University-Texarkana emerged as the RRAC Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week for Oct. 14-20, while Skylah Barton of Xavier University (La.) raced to the RRAC Women's Runner of the Week award for the same dates. This is the eighth set of awards of the 2024 cross country season.
Johnson posted a time of 25:14.9 in the 8K at the Arturo Barrios Invitational hosted by Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas. The junior from Marble Falls, Texas, placed 247th in a massive field of 370 runners.
Barton finished with the fastest Xavier time in a 6K in the last 12 years for the second consecutive meet. The senior from St. Gabriel, La., recorded a time of 25:14 to place 59th in a field of 178 at the Watson Collegiate Invitational in Clinton, Miss.
