LSUA's Martin-Harwick, HT's Coleman recognized with RRAC women's hoops weekly awards
WACO, Texas – Dannah Martin-Hartwick of LSU Alexandria (La.) earned the RRAC Women's Basketball Offensive Player of the Week award for Oct. 28-Nov. 4, while Tyaija Coleman of Huston-Tillotson University (Texas) was recognized as the RRAC Defensive Player of the Week for the same dates. This is the first weekly award of the 2024-25 women's basketball season, and this marks the introduction of a new RRAC award for defensive player of the week.
Martin-Hartwick averaged 22.0 points per game as the Generals started the season at 2-0. The senior guard from Livingston, La., scored 27 points in an 83-70 victory over Loyola University (La.) and chipped in 17 to defeat the University of Mobile (Ala.), 71-68. Martin-Hartwick, a two-time RRAC all-conference selection, made 13-of-28 field goal attempts and 8-of-18 from three-point range.
Coleman accounted for five steals and three blocks as the Rams lost a pair of games at the Tiffany Jackson HBCU Classic. The senior forward from Dallas swiped four steals in a 55-41 loss to Philander Smith University (Ark.), and she hauled in four defensive rebounds.
