HT's Burton, Carter team up for RRAC women's hoops weekly honors
WACO, Texas – Wilashia Burleson of Huston-Tillotson University (Texas) was selected as the RRAC Women's Basketball Offensive Player of the Week for Nov. 4-10, while her teammate, Aliyah Carter, collected the RRAC Defensive Player of the Week honor for the same dates. This is the second set of weekly awards for the 2024-25 women's basketball season.
Burleson scored 20 points in the Rams' 65-47 victory over Wiley University (Texas). The junior guard from Temple, Texas, had a double-double with 12 rebounds. Burleson was 9-of-17 shooting from the field as HT picked up its first win of the season and improved to 1-2.
Carter played a role in the Rams defensive effort that limited Wiley to 47 points. The freshman guard from Pflugerville, Texas, provided three steals, a blocked shot and five defensive rebounds. Carter also chipped in 17 points.
