Xavier's Shelley, Campbell earn RRAC women's hoops weekly honors

WACO, Texas – Kam Shelley of Xavier University (La.) received the RRAC Women's Basketball Offensive Player of the Week award for Dec. 2-8, while Xavier's Joy Campbell earned the Defensive Player of the Week honor for the same dates. This is the sixth set of weekly awards for the 2024-25 women's basketball season.

Shelley scored a game-high 22 points including the game-winning shot in the Gold Nuggets' 65-62 victory over LSU Shreveport (La.). The graduate guard from Albany, Ga., sank a shot from 30 feet at the buzzer to end the Pilots' 30-game conference win streak. Shelley connected on 9-of-16 shots from the field and 4-of-8 from three-point range. She is fifth in the conference in scoring with 17.0 points per game. Xavier is off to a 9-0 start for the first time in 43 seasons with a clean 6-0 conference mark.

Campbell compiled five steals and five defensive rebounds in the Gold Nuggets' win over LSUS. The graduate guard from Fontana, Calif., also contributed nine assists in the game. Campbell is third in the RRAC with 2.9 steals per game.
